Artist
Puerto Rico’s Lizbeth Roman Is a 28-year-old indie jazz songstress recently played New York City for the first time as a solo artist and left us very impressed. We spoke with Roman, who toured New York City with her supporting band, Los Duendes Invisibles (the invisible trolls), in April. Born in Mayagüez and raised in Bayamon, she’s a fairly new solo artist who is quickly creating buzz on the island. There are voices that do not belong to the bodies, which seem to come from other nooks that transcend the skin. One of those voices is that of Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Lizbeth Román, a 28-year-old girl who carries magic in her throat. It is enough to listen once, to be enchanted with the voice of this artist, who simply can not be ignored. Lizbeth Román broke into the independent music scene in 2010 with the musical group Ella, in which she was the lead vocalist and composer. After this concept was dissolved, the artist had a period of silence, until finally she put together her own proposal, which she called Lizbeth Román and the invisible elves. With this project, the artist was exposed to the audience with her distinctive voice, her guitar, her poetry and, above all, with her invisible elves, as she calls the muse that accompanies her.
