Liz Frencham is a singer, songwriter, and double bass player originally from Wollongong, Australia. While studying jazz at the Conservatorium of Sydney she met Greg Bryce and Caroline Trengove, and in 1997 they formed the band which became Jigzag. She has played just about every folk club and festival in Australia, and toured in the UK and Canada. In great demand as a female double bass player, she has shared a stage or studio with artists including Scott Cook, Fred Smith, Chris While and Julie Matthews, Kavisha Mazzella, and The Waifs. Her first solo album, Jericho was released in 2005. Early in 2008 she released an album of duets recorded without overdubs - you and me vol.1, followed by you and me vol.2 in 2014 and you and me vol.3 in 2015. In 2019 she released her second fully original studio album, Love and Other Crimes. She has been a member of Jigzag, Dev'lish Mary, The Lawnmowers and Frencham Smith, as well as performing solo.
