Liu Cain

Liu Cain is an electro-indie band formed in Dublin, Ireland, in 2006. Their music is a fusion of new wave and trip-hop inspired electronic beats, synth backgounds, melodic vocal lines and rock guitars. The line-up consists of four musicians: Paul, Jerry, Konny and Moyra. Liu Cain’s origins can be traced back to 1996 when a songwriter/guitarist Jerry joined a Czech emo-core band Albion where he met Petka (drums), Logr (bass) and Liu Cain’s current guitarist Konny. They started to experiment with synthesizers and electronic music. Albion commenced their first tour in Czech Republic in Spring 1997, followed by a European tour one year later (Germany, Slovakia, Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, Poland). In 2002 Logr, the bass player, left Albion and was replaced by a local musician named Paul. The band focused on brand new, more electronic material and started to appear on big music festivals in Czech Republic, such as: Rock For People, Trutnov OpenAir, Love Planet and Mezi Ploty, after which they played their last tour in 2004. In total, Albion had recorded four official albums: an LP split with Kevorkian, “MIM”, “Synthpathy” and “I’ll be ON”. After the last tour, three members of Albion (Jerry, Konny, Paul) moved to Ireland and set up a brand new electro-indie project with a new name – Liu Cain.
