Artist
Alexa Raquel Casciato (a.k.a. Little Warrior) is a self-taught musician, film composer, sound designer, and multimedia artist located in Portland, OR. Alexa’s primary focus is experimenting with recording and production techniques and creating vocal melodies that can also transform the voice into an instrument. Interested in sociology, Alexa’s lyrical content often focuses on the media, consumerism, and technology in our modern day world. Interested in most musical genres, Alexa’s biggest influences include Portishead, Nelly Furtado, Pink Floyd, Danny Elfman, Sneaker Pimps, Chemical Brothers, The Beastie Boys, Fiona Apple, and Ella Fitzgerald. Alexa releases her singer-songwriter, mellow electronica music under the alias “Little Warrior” (http://littlewarrior.bandcamp.com/) and her symphonic instrumental trip-hop music under “Whimsey & Dabbler" (http://whimseydabbler.bandcamp.com/). The term "Little Warrior" is derived from one of Alexa’s favorite books "This Present Darkness" and is referencing someone who appears small in day-to-day life, but is really fighting a battle towards good. Though she is small in stature, Alexa constantly "wars" against societal standards such as the 9-to-5 workweek and social constructions of what an artist ought to be.
