LIS ER STILLE /// LISERSTILLE 2012 is the year the world will end. It is of no significance whether this is true or not. All that matters is interpretation. Lis Er Stille plays dreamy and mentally disturbed art-rock of 2012. The four members derive from very different musical backgrounds, and initially formed the band as an art project, creating music for surrealistic paintings. The group developed into an independent rock band long ago, but the loyalty towards art and value has remained persistently intact. Stardust and punches to the gut In February 2012 Lis Er Stille released their fourth album titled NOUS - Greek for the human intelligence that is necessary for understanding what is true and real. The album includes six massive tracks that are directed towards a future full of hope without security, while at the same time containing distinct traces of the past. The brute strength of The Collibro (2010), the beauty of Apathobvious (2007) and the epic power themes of Amp-train (2006) are merged into a solid sound of a band which, until their last drop, believes in the path of the substance. The songs were composed and recorded below trembling power pylons in the outskirts of Aarhus, DK in Lis Er Stille’s own studio, “Cube of Eternal Doom”. The tracks were then brought into the dusk of Nim, DK - where Anders Ruby served mix and master on a tray of stardust and punches to the gut. In the wee hours the tracks were awakened in a completely unique soundscape. The space
