1- L'image was the basically last rhythm section of Mike's White Elephant, the launching pad of most of NYC's greatest studio musicians of the 70's & 80's. Originally a quartet featuring Mike, Warren Bernhardt, Tony Levin and Steve Gadd, the group fit gigs in between their busy blossoming studio careers. 2- L'Image is a Synthpop duo from Augsburg, Germany. It consists of Alexander Pfahler, and Andreas Pfeifer. In 2008 Alexander and Andreas stopped the project and formed the new band "Loewenhertz". L'image synthétique is the name of a new electro-pop band consisting of Andreas Pfeifer, Alexander Pfahler and Oliver Strehler. Andy and Oliver started making music long ago at the age of 13 and 15 in a band called L’etage. After having done some instrumental tracks since they coudn’t find a proper singer they finally gave up making music soon. Some years later Andy got to know Alex in a famous fast food restaurant (guess which?) where both tried to earn some extra money – you know girls sometimes want more than just fun. Anyway – Alex was nothing short but perfect as a singer for Andy’s song ideas that still were present in his head more than ever before. Andy also managed to take back Oliver in this new formation – l’image syntétique was born. The mixture of melodic electro-pop and Alex’s dark melancholic voice really grabbed the producers Harald Schoger and Veit Wiehler (also known as the Techno Twins who produced Dark Distant Spaces, All For One, Das Kombinat).
