www.lilliangish.bandcamp.com Lillian Gish were an 'Avant-Gaze' / Psychedelic Noise Rock band from London, England. They were based at different times in London, Glasgow and Brighton. Formed in December of 2007 in London, UK, Lillian Gish began as a My Bloody Valentine-obsessed Darkwave / Electropop outfit named Sunlight Machine. Eventually moving on to noisy self-dubbed 'avant-gaze' and eventually changing their name to Lillian Gish, they released This is Not an Exit in early March 2009 and, on 5th October 2011, released the psychedelic/neofolk/industrial/acid house influenced double album ...Darkly. Shortly after the release of ...Darkly, Lillian Gish released Devas/Pretas - a live recording of their latest ritual ambient/psyche-dub sound on 21st October 2011. In the summer 2014 Lillian Gish returned in full capacity with the percussive improv EP "O! A double majesty; mine shall stand, And play the star to stop posterity", followed by the Ingénue/Alligator EP. Their third full length studio record, And Sing Do the Ghosts of New Amsterdam, was released online on 26th July 2014. Lillian Gish's core members were Lexi C.M.K Turner and James Beadnall, AKA Mercy El and Treeline, also of the musical projects, l'inconnue de la seine / Black, MA and Treeline, respectively. In 2015, Lillian Gish amicably parted ways, and have occasionally reunited for recording sessions and live performances.
