Liar Walk With Me is a one-man progressive rock/alternative metal project from Genk, Belgium , founded in November 2019 by Jan Venken. The name is inspired by David Lynch’s Fire Walk With Me, reflecting the project’s mix of surreal, dark, and introspective themes. The debut album, The Liar, The Thief and the Orchid (2020), introduced 12 tracks blending rock with progressive influences. A follow-up, Dark Soul, Bright Mind (2025), further developed the project’s focus on personal struggles, emotional intensity, and cinematic soundscapes. Musically, Liar Walk With Me draws from Tool, Quicksand, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Carcass, Baroness, and other acts across progressive rock, post-grunge, and alternative metal , combining layered instrumentation with psycological depth.
