LiMa was an indie rock/pop band from Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was formed in 2004, when Daniel Álvarez (bass & synth), Luciana Garrido (guitar & vocals) and Mateo García Haymes (guitar, vocals & synth) joined in a humid studio in Almagro, composed a bunch of songs and started gigging. LiMa had no drummer until Juan Bianchi joined the band a year later. That was when they decided to record their first and only LP, Tenés un pájaro. This album is a collection of 12 great songs. Perhaps the most remarcable attribute of Tenés un pájaro is the combination of power songs, mellowed by Luciana´s sweet voice, and melancholic and intimate ballads, usually sung by Mateo. The rhythmic section works solidly with a remarcable presence of Daniel´s bass and an unpretencious though subtle drumming by Juan. The record also combines a sort of garage sound with some studio tricks that says a lot about the versatility of Daniel Álvarez, who also worked in the record as Sound Engineer and mixed the tracks.
