Lisa Wiesinger aka Li released her debut album eleven on 11 November 2022. Looking for musicians to present her songs on stage, she found drummer Helmut Chang, and it was a perfect match on a personal and musical level. After the first acoustic concerts, they immediately started working together to expand the live presentation with all the synths and loops which are a key feature of Li’s Sound. Bass player Byron Cortes joined in 2023, and completed the new band with his personality and deep understanding of this kind of music. # On Li Velvet This project merits attention for its thoughtful integration of electronic and organic elements. Li constructs her compositions around layered synths and looping textures while maintaining genuine instrumental dialogue—her drummer and bassist aren't merely accompanying programmed elements but actively conversing with them. The album explores intimate emotional territory without sacrificing sonic sophistication. What distinguishes this work is its restraint: rather than overwhelming listeners with complexity, each synthesizer line and rhythmic choice feels considered, purposeful. The collaboration between three musicians clearly attuned to one another creates something rare—electronic music that breathes, that surprises, that invites repeated listening as new details emerge.
