ROSS LEWIS Born in Oxford, Mississippi, Lewis picked up his first guitar at the age of nine and has been impressing listeners ever since with his unique sound. He started by appearing at the normal round of proms, dances and civic and social events around his hometown that launch most musical career. But is was during a stint in the U.S. Air Force that his career really began in earnest. While stationed in New Jersey he became known as one of that area's top nightclub performers, often singing seven nights a week in addition to holding down his duties back on the base. After his discharge the singer put together a back-up group and started touring almost non-stop, first throughout the remainder of the Northeast and gradually moving into other areas of the nation, continually drawing a strong response from audiences where he appeared. "I truly enjoy entertaining people and more than anything else I believe that comes across on stage. I've always tried to concentrate on delivering a quality performance no matter where I may be, and I think people appreciate it when you put that kind of effort into your show." His love for music has taken him far. He attained national billboard chart recognition in the 1980's and has had four national country hits.
