The members of Lewd Buddha create a tasty form of "Sonic Gumbo," blending rock, funk, soul, and blues with a dash of Latin flavor. Lewd Buddha has been described as an "urban jam band that redefines the jam genre by incorporating grit into a melodic flow." Although the essential core sound of Lewd Buddha is served up in high-octane formula by its seven full-time members, the band has at times, scaled down to a trio for smaller acoustic performances. With popularity spanning various listening audiences, their music has also backed several hip-hop artists during free style jam settings. And when the complete roster of nine members is present, Lewd Buddha delivers an electrifying performance filled with energy, power and spirit. "Da' Buddha" has shared the stage with many national and international acts including Rusted Root, Big Fuzz, Burning Spear, Project Object, Randy Jackson from Zebra, Jen Durkin & The Bomb Squad, and George Clinton & The P-Funk. Lewd Buddha's first CD "Soap & Tobasco" was released in 2003 to rave reviews. "Life in Interesting Times" the long-awaited second CD was released in fall of 2005. Lewd Buddha's unique parts are what make it the musical sensation that it is. Currently, Lewd Buddha is performing throughout the Northeast at clubs, schools and festivals to a great response.
