Levi Dexter.. internationally know and respected for his development of the music style called Rockabilly. A mixture of Blues and country music from the mid to late 1950's. During the 1970's Levi Dexter recorded the rockabilly sound in a more modern recording setting. This important development produced the Neo-Rockabilly style that Levi Dexter is so well known for. His live shows are always energetic and fun with lots of dancing. The music is clear and vibrant. The 1970's Levi Dexter formed the legendary band Levi & the Rockats in 1977. Having completed the "Eddie & Sheena" tour of the UK In 1978 Levi headed to Los Angeles where he performed sold out shows at many of the larger clubs in Hollywood including the Whiskey-a-gogo, the Starwood and the Roxy. Levi has been seen on TV programs and news shows across Los Angeles, Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee and New York. Levi & the Rockats were the first unsigned band to perform on the national shown Merv Griffin Show and Wolfman Jack's "Midnight Special" TV show. Levi & the Rockats performed on the Louisiana Hayride Show. Levi Dexter is featured on the Andy Warhol TV show and are also featured in Andy's Interview magazine. Levi & the Rockats are featured on the 20/20 TV special on New Wave music. They toured Canada in late 1979... The 80's After Levi & the Rockats broke up Levi auditions Brian Setzer of the Straycats for his new band "Levi Dexter & the Rip-Chords". Brian declines but the new band makes it's Debut at the Metropol B
