Lesbian Search Party is a collaboration between friends: Dr. Hardcore Johnny Smooth As A Superfly State of the Bad Ass Art McSmokemifyagotem, Chop Master 5000, Cats, and Reactor Cor. The founding members, Dr. H, Chop Master 5000, and Cats started in 2007 in order to make a song for Cats' mommy's birthday. Lesbian Search Party made their first single "Happy Birthday" and then went on hiatus while the three members pursued solo projects. During a post New Year's Eve stupor, they decided to put out a debut album and spent a few days recording their first EP entitled "Look Closer" Lesbian Search Party is based in New York City and San Luis Obispo, CA. In 2010 they were joined by Reactor Cor, who had formerly made guest appearances with the band. Reactor Cor joined because Chop Master 5000 decided he would rather induct her into the band than have to credit her for her work by name. Fan speculation attributes this decision to the desire to circumvent the often unpleasantly messy contributing artist tags in digital audio files. Lesbian Search Party is influenced by bands that they like, drunken karaoke, fluffy kittens, Engrish, Bronchitis, literature, British Comedians, otters, internet memes, sugar, obscure references, hair products, tea, 3am, ten year old jeans, beaches, lead, very small rocks....
