Lesbian Afternoon, or ‘LA’ as the band is often referred, is the recorded adventures of one Atlanta native, Nuge. About 10 years ago Lesbian Afternoon was born into the delicious world of sound by way of a ghetto blaster, an acoustic guitar and some girls on the sidewalk passing by. Some musical highlights over the past few years include being featured on NPR (‘Open Mic’ 7/18/06), remixing a Deerhoof song (‘Flower’, featured on their free ‘Coverhoof!’ MP3 album), covering Of Montreal (‘Disconnect the Dots’, featured on the 'Aluminum Plums' free OM tribute album), making DIY surrealist music videos (collected on the 30 minute 'Videos de la Musica' VCD) & designing LA art on tile coasters, as well as completing a new album entitled ‘Horizontal Refreshment’. Looking ahead in 2008 Nuge will oversee the release of 2 new Lesbian Afternoon LPs and a 7" single, in addition to spearheading a compilation ('Worldwide and Gorgeous') on his own Hand Rolled Records imprint. The compilation will feature friends, artists and musical missionaries hailing from across the globe. It's destined to be a smash in the moonlit suburbs of Toyko so keep your eyes peeled!
