Les Gauches was formed in central Pennsylvania in early 2010 around the melancholy, but pop-oriented musical musings of Chris Binkley. After some minor setbacks in terms of personnel, Les Gauches is a traditional 4-piece, with additional synth and keyboard elements, and takes cues from the Wedding Present, the Go-Betweens, New Order and half-forgotten '90s bands such as Versus and Small Factory. Lyrically, Les Gauches takes a wry 30-something perspective on failed careers, girlfriends that don't exist, and memories of grad-school ideals.
