Artist
Leify Green (Leif Nicolas Huber) first fell in love with musical performance in the summer of 2006, while living on the streets in California and Oregon. “My music was my meal ticket,” he remembers, “I had no choice but to get as good at it as I could.” From those humble beginnings, Leify Green has come a long way. Since returning home to Maryland that September, Leify has been a member of several bands and performed at many local venues and festivals featuring the likes of regional favorites Adam Taylor and Dan Deacon as well as national acts such as Third Eye Blind. The Leify Green Conspiracy, the latest incarnation of the Leify Green sound, blends the singer’s passionate vocals and thought-provoking lyrics with smooth bass grooves, African and Latin hand percussion rhythms, and the funk-rock, Celtic, and Appalachian-style guitars and mandolin of string virtuoso Zan McLeod. Leify Green and his co-conspirators released their first studio album on December 23, 2010. See Leify Green's website for more information.
