Artist
Leevi Madetoja (1887 - 1947) was a Finnish composer. He studied in Finland under Jean Sibelius (afterwards his rival), then in Paris with Vincent d'Indy, and also in Vienna and Berlin. He was influenced by the folkloric music music of Ostrobothnia, especially in his opera "Pohjalaisia", and by the French school, because of his many travels to France during 1920-1930.
