Surrey band LEAGUES are a five piece, dynamic, British tinged, melodic alternative rock band. LEAGUES began through the bonding of two strangers over an acoustic guitar and a campfire at an inspirational Reading Festival 2010. One year later Joshua Kwei and David Royce decided to meet up and jam at a practice room in their home town of Kingston Upon Thames, giving birth to what would become LEAGUES. By the end of 2012 the line up was complete, now featuring Adam Kendall on bass and Rhys Williams taking on vocal duties. Josh had moved to fill the vacant drum position and Dan Horscroft was brought in to accompany Dave on guitars. After a string of support slots, including Hawthorne Heights and There For Tomorrow, their debut year climaxed with a headline show at hometown venue The Peel, providing the perfect opportunity to film the promo video for fan favorite ‘Carry The Sun’. 2013 has already seen LEAGUES release their self-titled EP and support artists such as A Lot Like Birds and Cancer Bats. Perhaps their biggest success was the announcement by Kerrang Magazine that they would be performing at Slam Dunk Festival after being picked by “some of the top rock agents, managers, promoters, journalists and record labels in this country”. A show that not only opened their eyes to the life that they wanted to pursue but also introduced them to many of their fans, who overwhelmed LEAGUES with their support.
