León Benavente is a Spanish indie rock band formed in 2012, born from the collaboration of four seasoned and well-respected musicians in the national scene. Abraham Boba, Luis Rodríguez, Eduardo Baos, and César Verdú, with experience in projects like Nacho Vegas's band, Tachenko, and Schwarz, came together to create their own unique sound. Their style is characterized by rock with dark 80s touches and a distinctive use of synthesizers. Their self-titled debut, León Benavente (2013), along with the EP Todos contra todos (2013), quickly established them in the Spanish music scene. This was followed by albums like 2 (2016) and Vamos a volvernos locos (2019), which landed them on the lineups of the country's most important festivals. In 2022, they released ERA, a work that explored new sounds and solidified their position. Later, in 2023, they released Década (demos y rarezas 2012-2013), a compilation of unreleased material from their early days. Their latest work, Nueva sinfonía sobre el caos, was released in 2024. Throughout their career, they have stood out for their lyrics that often address Spain's social reality and for a powerful and energetic musical approach that has made them one of the most respected bands in their genre.
