The fool is a person who acts against all reason. Le Bataillon Des Fous is The Battalion of The Fools. They set out from the cherry orchards of Österlen, home of the maenads, and have since then travelled and performed over great parts of Sweden and Europe; they’ve travelled from India to Greece. Wherever they’ve roamed they’ve stirred up the people, caused madness, excess, chaos and licentious copulations on the streets. They’ve won several awards, e.g. for their “development of a musical tradition with its roots in the seventies and eighties”. Amongst their inspirations stand The Stone Roses, The Smiths, The Doors and Orpheus. They’re romantics and libertines; they recoil from urban environments, correctness and policies.
