about

Melody Nicolette Pilotte (born 07 August, 1987) better known by her moniker Le Bas-Fond, is an American singer-songwriter living in Northern California. She is of Indigenous (Abenaki/ Méxica) English, and German heritage. Pilotte is a self-taught singer, song-writer, programmer and keyboardist, heavily influenced by the likes of Tori Amos, Charlotte Martin, Morrissey, David Bowie, Kate Bush, and Frances Ruffelle. At an early age, her mother, exposed her to works such as Joni Mitchell, Sam Cooke, Jackson Browne and Linda Ronstadt, while her grandfather exposed her to Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy movies, as well as the opéra "Carmen." In her early teenage years, she declared an "affinity to Goth music," with artists such as The Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, The Smiths, Siouxsie & the Banshees and Joy Division. www.thisquietsiege.net User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
