Members: Lead Vocals/Bass - Ben Wieman Guitar - Mitch Hardel Drums - *SEARCHING* Each member of Layer 4 brings a different taste of music to the playing field, but one style they all agree on is a fuse between post-grunge and 90’s alternative rock. They've been told in the past that they sound like Silverchair, but if you were to ask the members of Layer 4 what they sound like they would answer "kind of like a mix between Seether, Creed, and Alice in Chains". They do, however, enjoy a casual classic rock tune and occasional heavy rock song from time to time. Layer 4 originated in the small town of Arlington, Minnesota. It formed after a number of jam sessions involving members of the bands Soundless Echoes and Fill In The Blank in late 2007. Original drummer, Matt Roepke, left for the Army August 6th of 2008 while guitarist/backing vocalist Brit Keithahn left for college in Boston, Massachusetts on July 5th, 2008. Hardel and Wieman jammed with potential fill-in drummer, Tony Woehler, in winter of 2009. They liked the sound and decided to have Woehler join the group as a fill-in for the time that Matt was away. Layer 4 parted ways with Roepke and took Keithahn off their official roster in April of 2010 due to distance and musical differences. Upon doing so they officially recruited Woehler to a more permanent position. Woehler left the group in January of 2011 for personal reasons.
