Laviàntica is a band from Rome, Italy, active since the early 90s (then called Alterego) and born in the wake of the so-called new progressive rock, brought forward by groups such as Marillion, Twelfth Night, Pendragon and Italian Ezra Winston and Leviathan. A bit of history… With the name of Alterego, they were among the first Italians to exploit the web possibilities, enrolling - in 1998 - to the first true free music sharing website www.mp3.com, where they reached the number 10 in the international progressive rock section chart with the single in English “Bird Without Wings”. Over the years, the group has undergone some changes and even the group's activity has been discontinuous, due to the personal projects and the different musical experiences of its members. After having modified the name of the group in "Laviàntica", in 2013 the first official CD, "Clessidra", was released. The album is characterized by the care in the arrangements and by atmospheres inspired to the “new progressive rock” of the origins, but enriched by the contamination of other genres, such as pop and crossover-prog. Encouraged by the positive feedbacks from enthusiasts and trade magazines, both in Italy and abroad, the group began working on the new album, taking a path substantially different from the previous one.
