Lauren White was born June 7th, 1988 in Dublin Ireland. She spent most of her childhood learning to play instruments beginning with clarinet, guitar and piano and writing tunes and songs in her room. She studied music under Jazz clarinet player Jack Duffy, who she met in a marching band in South Dublin. Through him, she learned the appreciation of classical, jazz and big band music, that of Artie Shaw, Mozart and Vivaldi, to name a few. She developed the skills of picking up and instrument and managing to grasp the technicality that would take many players years to control.Growing up, Lauren expanded her musical knowledge, learning to play an instrument from every genre. It is through Irish music Lauren became known for her complex and dashing beats on the "bodhran" (irish drum) which made her a winner at concerts and in Dublin city centre.She also played in the Dublin Concert Band and was a member of the Communication Workers Union Band in Dublin.She sang in many choir competitions in and outside of school and also gained experience of performing through this and clarinet recitals all over the world. Her musicality and upbeat manner also won her position of conductor in a small marching band in Dublin. Her vivacious personality and gifted ideas has opened up many doors for her, which she is only beginning, also sharing her work and songwriting skills with songwriters and singers all over Ireland.
