Laura Cortese (born in San Francisco of Irish and Italian heritage) is an American singer, songwriter, and fiddler. She is currently based in Boston. In addition to her solo recordings and performances, Cortese has recorded as Laura Cortese & the Dance Cards. Cortese regularly performs with Tao Rodríguez-Seeger in The Anarchist Orchestra, and with Hanneke Cassel and Lissa Schneckenburger in Halali. She has also played with other acts including Uncle Earl, Band of Horses and Pete Seeger. She is a co-founder of the Boston Celtic Music Festival. She released her first solo album, Hush, in 2004.
