Last One Picked is an alternative Americana rock band from Oakland, California. The band is similar to Counting Crows, Gin Blossoms and Matchbox Twenty. They have been playing events throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, Reno/Tahoe, and other places in the Western United States. The first album, "Strangers & Consequences" released in August 2007 has 12 original tracks. In 2005, singer/songwriter Chip Johnson converted Last One Picked from a fledgling prog-rock act to its current "faux-alt-country" iteration. Tossing out all the material and half of the musicians, Last One Picked started over. High energy performances and well-crafted songs now highlight LOP's strengths. The one hold over from the old band is Tim Rich. Rich's moving bass guitar lines perfectly complement Johnson's less is more guitar structures, creating a hooky melodic background over which the stories are crafted. Lead guitar player Bob Chamberlin was the next to join adding the trademark hooks and flash that drive LOP songs forward.
