Born 1953 in the village Sorgenfri north of Copenhagen as Lars Haagensen. Until the middle of the 80's he went by the name Lars Hug. The nickname Hug originates in his childhood and stuck to him for many years until he in the 80's was forbidden to use the name. He then changed his name to Lars Hugh Uno Grammy, alias Lars H.U.G. Lars H.U.G's musical career started in the group Kliché, which was founded in 1977 by Lars and a fellow art student Johnny Voss. The group released two albums, "Supertanker" in 1980 and "Okay Okay boys" in 1982. Kliché disbanded in 1985.
