Larra Skye is a Toronto born singer/songwriter. Her debut album, The World Disappears was recorded in 2005 when Skye was only 21 years of age, using all analog equipment. The album of original music was released in Canada in late 2005. Retail chain HMV picked up on the album in the summer of 2006, and it became their #1 independent jazz album of the year. Skye's new album Wishing Tree will be released April 2, 2013. Working with producers Kosowski and Rogers, Skye has created a synthesis of pop, rock and folk anchored by her strong songwriting and winsome voice, which can range from a lush alto to a crystalline soprano. She wrote many of the songs at her parent’s bookstore, now located in rural Williamsford, Ontario, on an out-of-tune Mason & Risch upright piano.
