Artist
Landy Nova is Orlando Delgado. Landy Nova came out of the streets of Spanish Harlem at a most auspicious time in its musical history still buzzing with Jazz, Doo-Wops, and Rock & Roll, which later gave way to the explosive grassroots of Salsa --a compelling rhythmic beat of Afro-Caribbean origin. His love for Latin music first came from his parents who encouraged their children (2 brothers, 4 sisters) to absorb its healing vibes and surrender to the dance. Perhaps this was what later lead to Landy forming his own band and playing in New York night clubs with the likes of Tito Puente, Joe Cuba, Johnny Colon, T&T band, Larry Harlow, Frankie Dante, and Joe Bataan, all of who had risen from the electrifying streets of El Barrio to ultimately ignite in the consciousness of humankind a gravitating love and appreciation for Salsa. To be part of that evolution was always his dream, a dream that would be woven into a historic fabric a world would forever come to respect as The Latin Family. (This bio was written by Cullen Dorn).
