Lake Malice is a UK-based alternative metal duo from Brighton, consisting of vocalist Alice Guala and guitarist Blake Cornwall. Formed in 2021, the band quickly gained attention for their energetic mix of hyperpop and metal, earning nominations at the Heavy Music Awards for “Best UK Breakthrough Artist” and “Best Breakthrough Live Artist.” Influenced by artists such as Linkin Park, Trivium, Grimes, and Charli XCX, Lake Malice integrates heavy riffs and intense electronic elements into their music, accompanied by a distinct visual style inspired by Japanese anime and coined “futuristic rave goth” by Guala. Lake Malice released their debut EP, Post-Genesis, which showcases their dark, high-energy sound and intense, reflective lyrics drawn from personal experiences. The band attributes part of their rapid growth to their visually arresting music videos and distinctive style, which they’ve cultivated alongside their evolving musical identity.
