La Planta is a musical band that brings a risky proposal fusing genres as the funk, the electronics and the folklore principally. The result of that experiment is called ELECTROLATINFUNK. The musicians who compose La Planta are recognized by his great musical trajectory, Alex Martínez (Multipercussion), (Bass) Paul Rodríguez, Carlos Cañón (Guitar) Juan Manuel Coral (Leader Voice) and Mauricio Montenegro (Drums and Musical Director). La Planta has performed in some important cultural meetings as XXII FESTIVAL IBEROAMERICANO DE TEATRO de Bogotá Colombia. Festival de Negros y Blancos in Pasto Colombia, Festival de Jazz & Blues La Libélula Dorada, Festival KLAN C in the Palacio de los Deportes, Festival Caravana de la alegría, XV Festival Rock al Parque 2009 - Colombia and Manizales Grita Rock 2009 between others. The debut of his album “Venga y Pruebe” (Come and try) was June 14th., 2008 with the label ENTRECASA and it is distributed by Millenium Representaciones de Colombia Ltda. One year later the virtual record label ENERECORDS joins La Planta allowing to acquire the album in digital form on a global scale. The O.M.N.I (Unknow Musical Object) is his symbol and it represents a handmade sound system very common on the Colombian Atlantic coast used to amplify the music in the holidays of street (he is the famous pick up ¨picó ¨ of the “verbenas”).
