about

There are at least three different bands called Lunapark: a Ukrainian pop band (1), a Dutch modern classical ensemble (2), and a German new wave band (3). 1) The Ukranian Lunapark are a band featuring the elegant and seductive vocals of Polina Golubkova and Dmitry Demchenko on guitars and keyboards. During live performances Polina and Dmity are joined by Oleksa Volinsky on bass and keyboards with Maks Shevchuk on drums. The group delivers a pop mix of melodies and fun emotions of love in all its variety. Polina’s sensitive, but at times powerful voice, brings an unusual delicate timbre to Dmitry’s enchanting lyrics. Oleksa’s subtle bass and Mak’s drum lines are carefully layered on this mix to produce songs that inspire you to dance one moment and quietly reflect the next. The band members were friends long before they came together to form Lunapark. Polina & Dmitry knew each other since elementary school. Dmitry met Oleksa on a party while he was finishing recording an album for Dmitry’s first band, Dominion. After a long evening of conversations about music they agreed to meet the following day and play music together. The result was both surprising and powerful. Shortly after this, Polina went to Italy to participate in a singing competition. Much to her surprise, she won. When she returned home the three friends played together as a group for the first time and the result was amazing. Later, to fill out their sound, Maks joined them on drums. 2) The Dutch Lunapark
