Choi Ji-su (Korean: 최지수; born July 21, 2000 in Incheon, South Korea), known mononymously as Lia (리아), is a South Korean singer under JYP Entertainment. She serves as the main vocalist and sub-rapper of South Korean girl group ITZY. She made her debut in ITZY on February 12, 2019, with the release of their single album, IT’z Different, with their lead single "DALLA DALLA". On January 3, 2022, Lia made her solo debut participating in the OST of MBC's Korean drama, The Red Sleeve, with the song "Always be your star". On September 18, 2023, it was announced by her agency, JYP Entertainment, that Lia would take an indefinite hiatus from all activities. She posted a handwritten letter to fans the same day via Instagram. It was also clarified that she would not be participating in the group’s 2nd world tour “BORN TO BE”. On November 16, 2024, a lyric video for a snippet of Lia’s first original solo composition "Blossom" was released. The song would later be included on ITZY’s 8th mini-album, BORN TO BE, though she would be absent from all group recordings. On July 8, 2024, it was announced that Lia would resume group activities beginning with the release of ITZY’s newest album which would be released in the second half of the year. ITZY would make their first appearance as five in over 10 months on July 9 for their fifth anniversary livestream.
