LAY ABOUT WORLD is a Japanese rock and Visual Kei band founded in 2018. They debuted with the mini album DROWN DEEPLY on May 25, 2018, and the concert "Kill the past." at the Ikebukuro EDGE. Since then, they have released their single DROWN DEEPLY -ANOTHER-, the full length album 『真っ赤な嘘』, the full length album クロン -c×lone-, and the full length album 「LIVE OR DIE」. On the 5th February, 2021, guitarist Takuya was fired for having relationships with many women and breaching the contract many times, resulting in his contract with Shimizuya records to be stopped. Since then, LAY ABOUT WORLD has been a 3 piece band. Over time, their music has evolved from heavier rock, to a more melodic and catchy rock sound. Recently, they use less screaming and experiment more with different sounds, like prominent basslines and intricate guitar riffs, all the while still sounding like themselves. LAY ABOUT WORLD's newer songs have been occasionally produced by yuya, from Develop One's Faculties, resulting in their style of music shifting slightly. With recent releases, their visual style has also changed. Although still visual kei, they have become more softer. The makeup and outfit styles vary from member to member, with their outfits oftentimes not matching. From creepy and dark aesthetics, to hardly any makeup, the band's members vary greatly, making them quite unique.
