L'Abattoir is a one-off Dutch 'superband project', under the flag of the In A Cabin With project and the Music Center The Netherlands (MCN), to celebrate the 10th anniversary of MCN's 'Unsigned Project'. L'Abattoir consists of Sticks (MC in Fakkelbrigade and Opgezwolle), Sjam Sjamsoedin (of Nobody Beats The Drum and Boemklatsch), Maurits Westerik (frontman of GEM and guitarist in the band of Anne Soldaat), Thomas Azier, Daan Schinkel (half of sleazerock duo zZz) and Joppe Molenaar (drummer of Voicst and Bettie Serveert). These musicians gathered in Casablanca, Morocco, in February 2010. They recorded in a former abattoir, transformed into an artistic playground for the local art-scene. The self-titled album was released in May 2010.
