Kyle Fischer was the guitarist (and sometimes vocalist) of the Brooklyn-based indie rock band Rainer Maria. Kyle was born in Indiana and lived there for a short time before moving to Shawnee, OK with his sister and parents. His father a reverend with First Christian Church moved the family to Texas in the late eighties while Kyle was in Jr. High. Upon graduation from High School Kyle moved to Madison, WI where he attended the University of Wisconsin. While in Madison his former band Rainer Maria was formed. In 2001 while on tour for their 3rd album "A Better Version of Me", Kyle created his first solo album named 'Open Ground'. Much of it was in cooperation with Ranier Maria bassist and vocalist Caithlin De Marrais, who is also featured on the album. Per his Polyvinyl Records artist page, "Despite a busy tour schedule, Kyle often finds time to play occasional shows. Currently, he is writing and recording songs for his next album, the tentatively-titled Black Milk." Per Kyle on Rainer Maria's official message board, "Black Milk is basically finished and sitting on my hard drive. It's a really different record. I haven't really decided the when's and how's of putting it out since Rainer Maria is where all of my efforts are going these days and I'm sure I won't have time to tour on it or anything, but probably it'll go up on iTunes Music Store sometimes soon or else I'll just give it away.
