Norwegian death metal band comprised of Vomit and Mayhem members, active in the mid-nineties. Shortly before his death by murder in 1993, Mayhem's Øystein Aarseth ran into former Vomit member (and some variant of Mayhem alumni) Kittil and suggested he reform the three-piece version of Vomit with himself (Kittil) on vocals. When Kittil fell into some money in 1996, this was exactly what he did. To round out the group he recruited former Vomit drummer Torben and Mayhem's bassist Necrobutcher. The band recorded both the "Gamlem" EP and "Krieg" LP in Caliban studios in Oslo with Ole Petter Andreassen (the cumshots, Thulsa Doom, Black Debbath, the hillstone halos) who also filled in as a guitarist on some of the tracks. The songs on the records consist of old Vomit riffs rearranged into new songs, some unused material from the same time and a cover of Mayhem's "Ghoul." Lyrically the songs appear to be near-exclusively about violence, with some excursions into necrophilia and surrealism. Both records were released by the Norwegian label Head Not Found, run by Metalion of Slayer Magazine. The EP title may or may not be a reference to Paul Gamlem who was assaulted and murdered in a gaybashing incident in the Sofienberg park in Oslo in 1991. The LP title was the proposed title of the sixth Darkthrone album.
