After all the classic early Finnish hardcore bands fell apart or changed their sound, a new generation took over to keep the Finnish punk spirit alive. Kumikristus, from Turku, was one of them. In 1987, Kumikristus released their first 7", called Kumikristus. In 1988, they also did a split LP with Sätkynukke but the songs were more midtempo and melodic. Kumikristus released their first 7" by themselves with a pressing of only 300, whcih was very common in Finland at the time.
