Krista & The Whale is one of the many projects of Krista De La Rosa. How Krista decided on the name for her music blog “Krista & The Whale” (http://kristablogs.tumblr.com) gives just a small glimpse into her mind and perception of things: “It started as my imagination. Back when I wanted to adopt an orca before Free Willy would begin playing on VHS. I always thought by “adopting” an orca, I’d literally be living with it.” Being raised in deep South Texas, she always longed for something so much more than the small town of Harlingen could offer her, so, she did what any brilliant and determined person would do, and graduated early from high school to pursue her education at St. Mary’s University, and then later at Texas State as a way to escape and get closer in achieving her dreams. Her passions include, but not limited to: music, photography, and writing. All these three go hand-in-hand perfectly, as she has outstanding talents in each of them, and allow her to do her favorite pass-time of listening to music / watching the artists themselves perform, photographing them (http://www.flickr.com/photos/krista_lauren_photographs), and then writing about their performance.
