about

The Krayons were a long-running hardcore punk rock band based in Corpus Christi, Texas from 1987 until 1995. The band evolved from thrash-based crossover to hardcore and then a more melodic style until finally turning its attention to garage rock at the tail end of its run. The Krayons recorded one seven inch EP (“When All Else Fails, Katoville”, 1991), one cassette album (“Illusions of Freedom, Delusions of Grandeur”, 1993), one split 2x7 EP (“Sam Rankin”, 1995) with Right Turn Clyde and were also featured on a few obscure comps. A full-length vinyl retrospective was released in 1997 (“Souvenirs from the Scene of the Crime”) and a CD digipack was released in time for the band’s 20th anniversary in 2007. Much of the band’s output can be found on the band’s label, TFC Records. As of 2011, members of The Krayons are involved in a rehearsal space complex/DIY show space called TFC Rehearsal Studios in Corpus Christi. The Krayons staged a benefit on Christmas Day, 2010 to help out with expenses. More recently, the band reunited for a benefit show in May, 2011 to help a friend who was severely injured in a car accident the month before.
