Kokoshca was founded by Amaia Tirapu and Iñaki López, in 2008 in Pamplona. Its name comes from the phonetic distortion of the Austrian painter Oskar Kokoschka. At first they were a duo and thus created their first album Únete a Kokoshca (ByP, 2008) released by the Madrid label Birra y Perdiz, cradle of other emerging bands of the moment such as Espanto, Antonna (leader of Los Punsetes) or La Otra Gloria. In this first album, the musician Antonio Luque from Sr Chinarro collaborates on the song Azul metal. Javier Aznárez left the group in 2013, bringing in Álex López and Iñigo Andión, thus turning Kokoshca into a quartet. This year they recorded their third album Hay una Luz (Ayo SIlver, 2013) which is well received in the specialized press12 and stands out on the list of the best albums of the year 20133 in media such as Jenesaispop or Rockdelux among others. Their preview single is Directo a tu corazón, which is accompanied by a video clip made by filmmaker Víctor Iriarte. This song is the number 2 national song of the year selected by readers for Rockdelux magazine. On this album, the collaboration of the Barricada singer El Drogas4 stands out in the last cut of the album titled "Las flores del fin del mundo." In 2016 they signed with the Madrid label Sonido Muchacho, home of musicians such as Carolina Durante and Hinds.
