KOKOSHA GLAVA is a punk band, formed in 1988 in Kurdziali, Bulgaria. They play great UK/Exploited type of punk and they had plenty of live recordings of various gigs and couple of raw demo studio records untill the mid 90's when two of their tapes were distributed by a smal bulgarian label and they received very good reviews abroad and put their name on the underground map. At the time the leader and songwriter of the band, Petko Dimitrov was studying law in the University Of Plovdiv where he reformed the band after meeting Atanas Bakalov (bass). Helped by the faithfull drummer Martin Nedkov, they recorded the track "ANARCHY" which was included in a international punk compilation (Punk Rock Makes The World Go Round,1997) released by the german label Teenage Rebell Records. KOKOSHA GLAVA soon gained reputation for their live perfomances, mainly for Petko's crazy acting onstage - mix of playing jokes to the audience, body building-naked posing, breaking guitar strings and singing falsetto. In the spring of 1999 the band recorded "HEROIN","SUMMER SKA" and "IN A DAY OF MAY",three tracks with a retro ska sound and controversial lyrics("Heroin") which won them more scandalous fame especially after their radio appearance on Channel Kom's Rock Show where Petko used his time on air to cynically criticize everyone from the local rock idols to the president of Bulgaria. Despite this fact, "SUMMER SKA" stayed in the radio playlist for a few months. The songs were released in GET THEE TO
