Kobol is a duo comprised the musical relationship between multi-instrumentalist Nashio Chavez (PLANKTONMAN, formerly from NORTEC COLLECTIVE) and Drummer Argel 'Arhkota' Cota (NIÑO ASTRONAUTA-acida) both from Ensenada, now residing in LA. Both spanish and english speakers, and about a 15-year musical trajectory. A mixture of natural low tempo beats, freestyle DSP jams, sly acoustic impressions with jazzy and dubby vibes all over the place. Kobol's debut album draws from many musical idioms that go beyond the nu-jazz, IDM and Jazzstep tags, breaking ground and taking us into a brave musical new world. Kobol's framework goes inside the detail of the texture of sound, manipulating live audio sources and implementing a mysterious and cinematic sense of wonder into the gritty beats.
