Kit Krash woke up writing songs at the young age of seven, it seemed the reason for him to take up the guitar and learn a little piano. Since he grew up listening to Indian Classical music he also started playing Sitar and designing melodies on the violin. With his twin brother on a Korg Delta synthesizer, he started his first band where they experimented often with a real to real tape player as their multi-effects unit, for reverb, echo, looping and distortion. Eventually they would make ambient tapes to play in the background to their songs. Moving to the East Village, Kit joined a group of multi-media artists known as Gargoyle Mechanique at their Club House/Studio/Laboratory at 28 Ave. B. Inspired by Gargoyles founder Steve Jones use of two tape decks and a digital delay (with a pitch shift) as a musical instrument, he made this his backup band for his Folkatronic guitar and violin songscapes. Another member of Gargoyle who was inspired by the same setup Tim Sweet became a regular jamming partner and a project called the Technorganic Ensemble with several other acoustic instrument players became regulars in East Village venues and Williamsburg loft parties. As a violinist and occasionally as guitarist, vocalist and sampler player, Kit played and worked with many musicians in the New York underground including Elliot Sharp, Marc Ribot, Jon Spencer, Vernon Reid and Moby. He also made some of the first soundtracks for the internet for Icon Media's Word Magazine and played
