Kissing Kalina is the brainchild of singer/guitarist/programmer Danny Sanchez. He started writing songs for the band in 2006, influenced by comic books, garage/punk rock and his nocturnal ramblings around the murky streets of London. In 2007, Danny was joined by an assortment of friends to play a series of chaotic gigs at parties, basements and dungeons across the capital. It was at one of these gigs that the band's infectious, shimmering rock n roll was noticed by musician Lily Valentine, who became a permanent member of the band in early 2008. Now the duo spend their days writing music together in a cobwebbed basement directly underneath the pavement. Startled passers by can often be seen questioning their sanity on hearing the wild, howling fuzz pop that seems to be coming from inside the earth beneath them.
