KISS OF THE WHIP is a dark electronic project formed in 2017 by Montreal-born artist and producer Tristan Victor, and currently located in Baltimore, Maryland (United States). His first three albums, ‘Like Love Only Real’ (self-released, 2018), ‘New Lows’ (Diffuse Reality Records, 2018), and ‘We’re Not Here’ (Cold Transmission Music, 2019), have been firmly rooted in darkwave, post-punk, and synthpop. The project quickly gained an underground following in Europe and the United States, and with ‘Kiss of the Whip | L’Avenir - Split’ (2023) a collaborative release with fellow Baltimorean artist Jason Sloan, Victor is bringing his darkly uplifting sounds to an increasing variety of audiences.
