Kings of Things is a band that cannot easily be pigeonholed to a specific style. The closest fit would be ska punk, but the band incorporates far to many other styles to be thusly classified. In general the music is very energetic and manages to maintain perceived clarity despite structural and musical complexity. Influences include Sublime, Mad Caddies, Goldfinger, Third Eye Blind, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Reel Big Fish, The Police, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, NoFX, The Offspring, Fats Domino and Bob Marley.
