Three core members met at work. Started playing together in late 2000. Recorded a six song demo of covers. Sound leaned towards rockabilly and jump blues. First gig, May 2001. Played little smoky clubs. Lead singer heard a Louis Prima compilation and Prima become a major influence on our sound. Caught the interest of local swing dancers and started playing dances in 2002. Recorded a six-song cd in early 2003 called Short Stack. CD had four originals on it. Started getting some summer festival type gigs in 2003. Currently the band plays out a couple of times a month. Usually that includes a swing dance somewhere in the DC area. In the summer and fall they play numerous outdoor community events and festivals. They've been in the studio a number of times since late 2005 with an eye on getting out a full length CD in 2006.
