Kinetics & One Love, a hip-hop/electronic duo from NYC, are revitalizing underground hip-hop and reinventing standards for dance and pop music. Ever since they met in college, Kinetics, a battle rapper from Harlem, has been offering a distinctive compliment to One Love's instrumentals, an eclectic reflection of Love's background as a techno producer and drummer in an indie rock band. It doesn't hurt that the two go to an Ivy League university: One Love's extensive training in music theory and classical composition is evident in the beats, while Kinetics's lyrics breathe socially conscious and provocative themes, topped with a touch of frat boy humor and sarcasm. In the summer of '09, Kinetics & One Love released their debut album, Fading Back to Normal. Kinetics & One Love are currently negotiating songwriting deals with Atlantic Records.
